SBI’s Eligibility criteria have changed over the years. The criteria for 2009 exam was completely different from 2017 exam. Now, we will discuss the Eligibility criteria for SBI Clerk Exam in 2018.
Recruitment Process/Selection PROCESS 2018
The Recruitment Process for SBI Clerk Exam had gone a complete change over the last 2-3 years. For this year 2018, it consists of –
- Online Written Exam (Preliminary Test)
- Online Written Exam (MAINS Test)
- Personal Test
- Documentation Verification
- Final Merit List
What is the SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria?
Before 2018, SBI’s eligibility criteria is completely different than what it is now.
In 2018, when SBI advertised its Clerical Recruitment for Assistants, the Eligibility criteria were:
1) Age Limit: 18 to 28 years
2) Educational Qualifications:
Applicant must be 12th Passed with minimum of 60% marks OR Graduation in any discipline.
Govt’s Decision regarding the Eligibility criteria for Clerks
In April 2017, the Govt of India had accepted the recommendation of Anil K Khandelwal Committee, for making Graduation as essential Qualification for Clerks in Public Sector banks.
After that Govt’s Nod for change in Eligibility criteria, IBPS and SBI had released the Recruitment Notifications with the Revised Eligibility Criteria. In fact, in the 2017 SBI Clerk Advt, SBI invites revision criteria based applications
In fact, It is worth mentioning here that the IBPS conducted the First Clerk Exam, with Qualification criteria as 10th (with 60% marks) OR 12th (with 50% marks) OR Graduates. So, this clerk eligibility criterion is bad news for undergraduates and good news for Graduates. Because there is less competition.
Eligibility Criteria for SBI Clerk Exam 2018
Now, those who wish to apply for Clerk Jobs in 2018 in SBI, must full fill the below-mentioned Eligibility conditions
You must be an Indian citizen to apply for SBI Clerk exam
2) Age Limit:
Minimum age should be 20 years and maximum age should not exceed 28 years. The Cut off Date for determining the age Limit is 1st April 2016
However, there is upper age relaxation for reserved category of people
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PWD: 10 years
- Ex-Serviceman: 3 years
- Persons Domicile of J&K: 5 years
3) Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University. For Jr. Agriculture Associates, applicants must hold Bachelors Degree in Agriculture
Apart from this applicants must also full fill the below mentioned Additional Eligibility conditions
1) Applicant must have to knowledge of Local Language
2) Applicants must have good command over English language and mist fluent in English at writing/reading and speak.
Remember, this is the Eligibility criteria for the previous clerk exam held in 2017, However, we expect, that there will be no changes in the eligibility criteria for SBI Clerk Exam 2018. So you can prepare accordingly by keeping in mind this eligibility criterion.
